  • WTSUG Meeting – February 23, 2005

The WTSUG meeting on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 was held from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at Potomac Libary of Montgomery County, 10101 Glenolden Drive, Potomac, MD 20854.

    Agenda:

FEBRUARY SPEAKER: Our guest speaker will be WTSUG member Suri Duddella, CEO of www.siXer.com. Suri’s company specializes in financial market analysis, modeling, and other development technologies. He has been featured in Barron’s, Forbes, Newsweek, Active Trader, Stocks & Commodities, and has appeared on numerous television and radio shows. His website was ranked as the “Best of the Web” by Forbes in 2000, 2001 and 2002. For the past 10 years, he has also been a successful private trader and investor using his proprietary financial analysis.

    Recap:

George M. opened the meeting, advising the group of his desire to remain our leader, in conjunction with Scott H. who will serve in a back-up capacity (either George or Scott will attend the meetings and serve as moderator). George also initiated a discussion of changing the meeting start time from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm to accommodate those commuting in heavy traffic. The group decided to leave the starting time at 7:00 pm.

George also announced the winner of the 2004 WTSUG Achievement Award for the member providing the greatest service to the group during the past year. Our congrats go to Progster for his numerous contributions to the group during 2004. A job well done, Steve!

The group also thanked George for his continued support to the group despite the significant personal challenges currently facing his family. Our hats go off to George for his continued involvement in WTSUG as our leader!

FEB PRESENTATION BY SURI DUDELLA: The majority of the meeting was devoted to the presentation by Suri Dudella in which he discussed his pattern-based trading techniques in significant detail. We thank Suri for the disclosure of his trading methodologies and for the level of detail in his discussion. It was an awesome presentation!

Suri also advised that he is conducting a full-day seminar on these (and more) of his strategies on April 2 in Arlington, VA. The cost for the seminar and materials (including an approx. 300 pg manual) is $295.00. Check his web-site at www.sixer.com for details.

Suri is offering a $30 discount to WTSUG members for annual membership to sixer.com (details can be found at www.sixer.com/special1122.cfm). This website provides a sophisticated screening capability of stocks, equities and indices and has been nominated as “Best of the Web” by Forbes for several consecutive years as well as other awards from Barrons, Newsweek and other organizations.

He also mentioned a nifty money management Trading Planner that is available for free on his second web site (www.dowemini.com). This planner can help traders to realistically determine if their trading methodologies and market of choice will generate adequate trading income. The algorithm on which this is based is complicated, and the planner is clearly worth a look. You can find it at http://dowemini.com/index.cfm?Showtemp=s/dailyPlanner.cfm.
